Lajitas, Texas is about 50 miles from Big Bend National Park. Originally it was a 25,000 acre ranch (hacienda) which now has been converted into a supposedly first class resort (I'd question that assumption!)

Some of the rooms are built on the orginal foundation of a fort used by Gen Sherman at the turn of the century. Each room is decorated uniquely with real antiques.

Concentrating on golf was extremely difficult because the rock strewn inbetween the fairways were covered with fossils. A dream is to take Keri and my grandkids on a fossil expedition some weekend.

You look beautiful on the wooden bench! Can I steal that picture? Love you, mom.
